Lotto is a lottery game widely played in the UK. It consists of a play slip designed with 7 blocks labeled from A to G and a series of numbers ranging from 1 to 59 per block. Each block has to bet filled with 6 numbers, with a minimum of 1 completed block per play slip.
It's interesting to remark that the Jackpot is capped and after 5 rounds without a maximum category winner, the accumulated Jackpot is shared across the winners of all categories.
The prize of each bet of Lotto is £2.00
Actually, two Lotto draws are held weekly, on Wednesday and Saturday.
The bets are performed by choosing 6 numbers to complete a block. Once the first block is correctly filled with 6 numbers, you can continue completing the next one and so on until completing 7 blocks in a play slip.
One block is the minimum required for playing Lotto.
There are two ways to participate in Lotto:
In a Lotto draw, 6 balls are extracted (numbers from 1 to 59) from a pool of 59 balls. During the draw, the extraction of 6 balls will produce the winning combination for the current draw.
After that, a bonus ball is extracted. This bonus ball ranges from 1 to 59 also, and it allows to be used in the case of the player matches 5 out of the 6 numbers of the winning combination. Then, if the bonus ball matches with one of numbers chosen by the player in its play slip, he will be awarded with a new winning category (5+BONUS).
This bonus ball is not chosen by the player in its play slip, and the winning category only applies when the player has previously matched 5 numbers but failed the 6th one.
